Planning Your Design:
Hello Darlings,
The thing I love about a blank canvas is the potential there is to be done with it. A totally new space means a completely new look. I must say I was met with a challenge when I was faced with our new living quarters.
Not because it needed a lot of work, as a matter of fact, it was quite the opposite. The kitchen had been completely remodeled, the walls had fresh paint in every room and the floors were re-done, as well as new carpets in the bedrooms. This was fantastic! However, none of my furniture went with our new house.
New Home Color Palette:
Now I have to backtrack just a little bit, in our past apartments, I've always decorated very safely. I used a lot of natural wood pieces and kept my furniture neutral. I liked to bring in color with the decor on the walls and on the tables. But even then, all the colors tied into each other in a very safe way. I always leaned more towards off-white or beige, plant greens, and light-wood frames. When Diego and I saw this place, even before we decided to purchase it, I knew it would be a challenge for me to make it our own while trying not to break the bank at the same time.
Through this next series, I want to share with you how I planned the decor for our new place! The challenges, the inspiration, the tools and how I stayed on budget!
